Attendance
Report Absences or Late Arrivals – 847.920.2707
Parents and students are reminded of the importance of student attendance at all classes during the school day. If your student is absent or late, the parent or guardian must notify the school between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on the day of the absence. A phone call is required every day of the absence.
Requests to excuse students for medical appointments during the school day must be verified by medical personnel, in writing, in order to be classified as an excused absence. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary sanctions.
2012-13 Dress Code
Loyola Academy has a standardized dress code comprised of khaki slacks with shirts, sweaters and sweatshirts bearing the school logo in shades that match or complement Loyola's official school colors of maroon and gold. Students may choose from any of the options below to conform to dress code standards for the 2012-2013 academic year.
If you are a current or returning Loyola family, please note that our dress code has changed. During the 2012-2013 school year, students will still be allowed to wear polo shirts with the previous Loyola logo, but only in white or maroon. Shirts of any other color will no longer be permitted. In addition, students will only be permitted to wear the maroon or black sweatshirts and sweaters.
Polo Shirts
Loyola polo shirts are available in long-sleeved or short-sleeved styles for male and female students and may be purchased in maroon, gold, black or white.
Dress Shirts and Blouses
White dress shirts and collared blouses with the Loyola logo are available for students who prefer a button-down shirt.
Sweaters, Sweater Vests, Sweatshirts and Fleece Vests
Students are permitted to wear V-neck sweaters, V-neck sweater vests and crewneck sweatshirts bearing the Loyola logo. These wardrobe items are available in maroon or black. Students may also wear a black, sleeveless, zipper-front fleece vest bearing the school logo.
Khaki Slacks (Chinos)
Traditional classic-cut or relaxed-fit khaki chinos (no stone or trench colors) must be worn by all students during the school day. To avoid unintentional dress code violations, we recommend that you purchase your pants from The Gap or Lands' End. The classic khaki pants in celestial taupe at The Gap and the straight-leg chino pants in khaki at Lands' End meet our dress code requirements for female students. Pants may be purchased at other retail outlets as long as they conform to the specifications listed above.
The LoyolaWear Store is located near the East Gym in Room 124-A. The store is open during all four lunch periods from 10:15 am to 1:30 pm. Store manager Julie Hahn can be reached at 847.920.2486 or jhahn@loy.org. LoyolaWear is also available through our online store.
