Sports Medicine / Athletic Training
Welcome to the Loyola Academy Athletic Training Room and to our Sports Medicine Team. Our goal is to provide athletic healthcare to our IHSA Rambler student-athletes to our furthest abilities in a loving, respectful environment consistent with our Jesuit mission. The Sports Medicine Staff is comprised of one full-time Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and two part-time ATCs, along with two volunteer Sports Medicine Doctors.
Working under the direction of the Team Physicians, the Athletic Trainers primary role is preventing, assessing, treating and rehabilitating athletic injuries. This includes immediate care of life-threatening emergencies and concussion management.
Our facilities include 2 athletic training rooms at our Wilmette campus and one at the Glenview campus, all complete with custom built, professional level treatment and taping tables, ultrasound, electric stim machines , ice whirlpool, and many more products to aide in rehabilitation.
Athletes are encouraged to see the athletic trainer during their free periods to get their injuries evaluated and treated. Communication will be made with the parents and coaching staff if further medical attention is required.
