Academic Resource Center

Programs - Magis Program

“Magis” is a Latin word for more, and it reflects the philosophy of this program, which is to give students more structure, more supervision, and more support. The Magis Program is an intensive, short-term intervention for students in academic crisis to help them effect a change that will result in sustained academic success at Loyola Academy. The goal of the Magis program is to assist students in academic crisis to acquire the organizational and study skills needed to become an independent learner in a college prep school. Loyola Academy expects the parents of Magis students to partner with the school in supporting those interventions recommended by classroom teachers, the Magis resource teacher and school administrators.
