On Monday, January 11, students, faculty, and staff will gather to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with an all-school assembly. Our special guests will be the creators and subjects of the film The Loyola Project, a 2022 documentary film about the 1963 Loyola Ramblers men's basketball team. The film details how the team broke down racial barriers in college basketball and how they were integral members of the civil rights movement.
The special viewing of this film originally scheduled for Sunday, January 8, has been postponed. Stay tuned for more information about a new time and date for the whole documentary to be shown at Loyola Academy.
College Counselors will provide an important overview of the college counseling program at Loyola Academy. This is a repeat of the session previously offered on November 9, 2022.

Loyola will host a screening of The Loyola Project on Sunday, January 22, at 1:00 p.m. in the Lemputtee Family Theater. This screening is open to all faculty, staff, parents, and students. Click here for the curriculum guide.
Dr. Teresa A. O'Keefe, PhD, professor at Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, will talk about adolescence as the time in life when humans first gain the capacity to think in more expansive ways and so imagine their lives beyond self-interest.
Students will have the opportunity to discover, explore, and evaluate their life's aspirations during Loyola's Quo Vadis, which is Latin for "Where are you going?" From college discernment to career exploration, Quo Vadis will tap the immense and impactful Loyola Academy alumni network to provide students with a road map of inspiration as they prepare for the next step in their journey. Please note, this is an early release day.
Students in grades 5, 6, 7, or 8* can enjoy an evening at Loyola Academy to playing with the Loyola Academy band during the Ramblers varsity basketball game vs. the DePaul Prep Rams. Come be a part of an exciting night of Rambler basketball.
*8th grade participants must have taken the entrance exam at Loyola Academy on December 3.
By popular demand, the bags tournament is back and will take center stage at this year's Ramble Rouser presented by Wintrust! Bring your friends and come dressed in your favorite LA gear as we kick off the Ramble season with this evening of friendship and fun. All guests are invited to participate in the tournament or watch from the sideline and cheer on fellow Rambler parents and guardians. Appetizers and drinks will be served.
