Information on Student Attendance
A parent or guardian must call 847.920.2707 (between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.) to report an absence, late arrival or early dismissal. A phone call is required for each day of absence.
Please review the information below regarding student attendance:
- Excessive Absences: If a student misses more than eight (8) classes in any one course during a semester, for any reason (excluding school activities), they may receive a failing grade and be withdrawn from the course. Exceptions may be granted for verified illness with medical documentation.
- Tardiness: If a student is late to any class, the student should report directly to the classroom teacher. If tardy, the student will be subject to disciplinary consequences imposed by the teacher. An accumulation of 3 tardies to classes will result in a JUG (e.g. a tardy to one Math class, one English class, and one PE class will result in a JUG).
- Early Dismissal: Students leaving school for any reason must have prior parental permission. Parents must call the Attendance Office 847.920.2707, and the student must report to the Dean's Office to obtain the proper Early Dismissal pass. After receiving an Early Dismissal pass, the student must then leave campus immediately.
Please refer to the
student handbook for all attendance policies.
We strongly encourage our students to stay home if they are ill. Amending our policy aims to support this statement.
