The Loyola Academy Community Celebrates Mass on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe

On Thursday, December 12, the Loyola Academy community gathered to celebrate the Mass on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas. Notably, The Most Reverend Jeffrey S. Grob, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Chicago and Archbishop-Designate of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, presided over the Mass along with Loyola Academy President Rev. Gregory J. Ostdiek, SJ, Rev. Stanislaw Czarnecki, SJ, Rev. Arkadiusz Ciemiega, SJ, and Loyola Academy Board Member Rev. Peter Breslin, SJ.
The Mass featured many hymns sung in Spanish. The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe honors the moment Mary appeared to Juan Diego, a Nahua peasant, in 1531, and spoke to him in Náhuatl—his own native language.

In his homily, Bishop Grob encouraged Ramblers to embrace life’s unpredictability and make a difference to leave their mark on the world saying, "What difference might you make? What encounter might you have on the way to change your life, somebody else’s life, maybe the life of the world."

To end Mass, Loyola Academy Combined Bands, Orchestras, and Choirs gave a beautiful performance of  "Angels We Have Heard on High" from their recent Christmas concert.
