Rambler Victory Parade Celebrates Loyola Gold Hockey
On Tuesday, March 27, students, faculty and staff celebrated a special victory parade to honor the Loyola Gold Hockey Team—2018 State Champions!
Members of Loyola Gold were led by the drum line and marching band throughout the hallways of Loyola Academy. Players, wearing their hockey jerseys and proudly carrying their championship trophy, were greeted by the applause of fellow students, faculty and staff waving maroon and gold pom poms.
The procession made a stop at the top of the main hallway where the marching band played the school fight song and the crowd began to chant "L-A-G" for Loyola Academy Gold.
The team ended a 22-year drought when it won the state championship on Saturday, March 24. Loyola Gold defeated Stevenson HS 4–2 to capture the state title at the United Center in Chicago.
