Students in grades five, six, seven, or eight can enjoy an evening at Loyola Academy to cheer on the Loyola Ramblers vs. Brother Rice Crusaders. Ramblers' Varsity Coach, Roxy Kakareka, and the cheer team will teach the students a routine that will be performed at the boys' varsity basketball halftime show. Come be a part of an exciting day of Rambler cheer! This unique service of Scripture and song, a tradition dating back to the late 19th century, invites us to reflect on the journey from the Fall to the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission to share the Good News. Nine Scripture lessons will guide us through this story, each followed by a carol or song that deepens the message of each reading. Tickets available here.

Online registration for the entrance exam will begin on Monday, November 11.
The Loyola Academy administers the High School Placement Test (HSPT). The HSPT has five sections: verbal, quantitative, reading, math and language (English). The exam is only open to current eighth grade students. Students must take the Loyola Academy Entrance Exam to be considered for admission to Loyola Academy and financial aid. A student may only test at one Catholic high school.

In a webinar for freshman, sophomore, and junior students and their parents, a panel of college admission representatives from three types of colleges (public, highly selective liberal arts, and Jesuit) will discuss how applications are evaluated at their institutions. The panel will review real transcript examples and provide a behind-the-scenes peek into an admissions committee.

The alternate exam date is only for eighth graders who did not take the HSPT at another Catholic high school on December 2. Check-in begins at 3:45 p.m. and students must arrive by 4:00 p.m. Please enter through the main entrance (door #1).
While advance registration is recommended, walk-ins will be accepted. A $25 exam fee is required; payment may be made in cash or by check payable to Loyola Academy on the day of the exam. The test will end at approximately 7:30 p.m. Students are allowed to bring water and snacks. Application materials will be emailed at the conclusion of the exam.

The Young Alumni Council will partner with Catholic Charites for their weekly service opportunity: The Share Table (previously referred to as Tuesday Suppers). Volunteers can help by serving 130 supper guest with a nutritious, hot meal in an atmosphere of dignity and respect at their 721 N. LaSalle Street location.
