Inclusion and Belonging at Loyola Academy

Jesuit education is rooted in a world view that respects all cultures and faith traditions. Here at Loyola Academy, we embrace the rich and dynamic contribution of students and the community we serve and strive to ensure that all students, faculty and staff feel they are valued members of our community. Our goal is for students to be known, to be loved and to have a true sense of belonging.

Our diversity as a Jesuit community is an integral foundation to communal learning and understanding and our service for and with others provides needed perspective and significance to all areas of life while encouraging a spirit of connection to each other.

At the heart of Catholic social teaching is the conviction that all human persons are created in the image and likeness of God. The God-given dignity of every human life must be honored from conception to natural death. Behind all that we do here at Loyola Academy are the Jesuit fundamentals of learning and spirituality. Our approach attempts to embody the principles of Cura Personalis and the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm.

Unity in Diversity

Nurturing the diversity of our community is a reflection of the grandeur of God who created us. We are united as sisters and brothers in the body of Christ. We celebrate our shared identity as Ramblers, even when we disagree.
Reflection, Conversion and Reconciliation

Opening our hearts and minds to the invitation to personal and communal reflection and action that leads us closer to God. As St. Ignatius Loyola insists, we are all loved sinners called by God.
Critical Thinking

Supporting a climate of investigation and intellectual curiosity that honors genuine inquiry and debate. We recognize critical thought as a hallmark of Jesuit education as it teaches us how to examine questions and arrive at conclusions, learning how to think not what to think.

Our hope is that our community members embrace our commitment to the Universal Apostolic Preferences, to "walk with the poor, the outcasts of the world, whose dignity has been violated, in a mission of reconciliation and justice."
