Fifty years ago, Ray Mooney reinvigorated lagging school spirit by organizing the Loyola Academy Torch Club. Fr. Mooney challenged this group to support all athletic events and to ensure their success by selling tickets and programs, ushering the fans, and providing a cheering section for the students. The club is still operating today.
