At Loyola: Went 8-3 with a 1.73 ERA and 105 strikeouts in 2005…named third-team All-State and All-Area in 2005...two-time All-Catholic League selection…selected by the IHSBCA as a member of the 2005 ‘Cream of the Crop’...went 8-2 with 1.93 ERA to go along with the 102 strikeouts in 58 innings of work in 2004...set a school record by striking out 18 batters in a seven inning Regional final game in 2004.
At Eastern Kentucky University: Pitched three seasons for the Colonels...named 2008 Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year...2008 Baseball America preseason first-team All-American selection...went 5-1 with a 1.43 ERA (81.2 IP, 13 ER) in 12 games/starts in his junior season...ranked second in the nation in ERA, 2nd in hits allowed per nine innings (4.41) and eighth in strikeouts per nine innings (11.90) in 2008...led the OVC in ERA, strikeouts (108) and opponents' batting average (.144)...all-time career strikeouts leader at EKU with 327f...first EKU baseball player ever to be drafted in the first round of the MLB draft.
