Boys' Swimming Qualifies for IHSA State Championship

Congratulations to the boys' swim team for their 3rd place finish at the IHSA sectional on February 17. The team qualified 2 relays and 7 individual events for the IHSA State Championship this weekend.
The meet started really well with a first place/state qualifying finish in the 200 yard medley with a time of 1:32.34 (Gus Koh '25, Devon Bone '26, Velizar Filipov '26, and Carter Tiv '25). Congratulations to the following individuals who qualified for the state championship:
  • Carter Tiv '25, 2nd place in the 200 IM
  • Velizar Filipov '26, 2nd place in the 100 yard Butterfly
  • Carter Tiv '25, 5th place in the 100 freestyle
  • Gus Koh '25, sectional champion in the 100 backstroke
  • Velizar Filipov '26, 2nd place in the 100 backstroke
  • Devon Bone '26, 4th place in the 100 breaststroke
  • Max Rice '24, 6th place in the 100 breaststroke
  • 2nd place 400 free relay (Tiv '25, Koh '25, Bone '26, Filipov '26)
Congratulations Coach Mike Hengelmann, his staff, and the entire sectional team and state qualifiers. Good luck at the IHSA state championship this weekend!
