Ramblers 'Build for the Future' at Latinx Youth Conference

On Saturday, March 2, Loyola Academy students traveled to St. Ignatius College Prep for the biannual Latinx Youth Conference. The goal of the conference is to empower and unify the Latinx community of Chicago by building connections and developing leadership skills while embracing the uniqueness of all cultures within the Latinx community. The theme for this year's conference was Building for the Future.
Highlights of the conference were the keynote addresses from Appellate Court Justice Jesse Reyes and Clarisol Duque, state director for Senator Dick Durbin. Students also enjoyed performances from Mariachi Sirenas and Ballet Folkórico Xochitl.

"The Latinx Youth Conference is held at St. Ignatius every other year for high school students from local Catholic and private high schools to learn from individuals in various fields, participate in a variety of workshops, network with other students, and enjoy live entertainment and delicious Latinx cuisine," says School Counselor Berenis Fernandez '07.
