Visiting Artist Stephen Serio Workshop for Students

On Monday, December 2, visiting Artist Stephen Serio P '16, '18 worked with Loyola Academy photography students, sharing some of the stories behind his work as well as offering pro tips on what makes an interesting photograph.
Students in the History of Chicago class enjoyed seeing how the artist captured iconic locations in Chicago using unusual points of view. They shared what they saw in the images, and he invited them to add written comments to his website. It was a great opportunity for our students to learn about the creative strategies of a professional photographer.

Mr. Serio's work will be displayed in an exhibition entitled "Chicago: taken in stride," in the Student Gallery of the McGrath Family Performing Arts Center, until January 7, 2025. The exhibit includes black-and-white street photographs taken with an iPhone. The exhibit will be open during school days. Please follow our parent/visitor policy when entering the building.
