LA Bar Association Welcomes Panelists to Fall Networking Event
The Loyola Academy Bar Association hosted 55 alumni and guests for a professional panel and networking event on Friday, October 1, at Lizzie McNeill’s in Chicago. The program featured guest speakers Judge Virginia M. Kendall of the Northern District of Illinois, Daniel Q. Herbert ’86 of Herbert Law Firm, and John G. Maher ’85 of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, who discussed some of their highest profile cases.
“The Ignatian Jubilee Year Loyola is currently celebrating is rooted in the anniversary of St. Ignatius’ ‘cannonball moment’ at the Battle at Pamplona that reshaped his view of the world,” explains Michael P. Kelley ’94, who practiced law for a number of years before returning to serve as a major gifts officer in Loyola Academy’s development office. “In the spirit of life-changing moments in our own careers, we asked our three panelists to focus on the clients, cases and trials that unalterably changed their professional—and personal—lives.”
A Q&A session and social hour followed the panel discussion. It was an insightful afternoon filled with great company, engaging conversation and, of course, food and spirits.
