Loyola Academy Dance Team Celebrates 30 Years with Alumni Reunion
On Friday, January 24, Loyola Academy's Loyola Lounge buzzed with excitement as former and current members of the Loyola Academy Ramblerettes gathered to celebrate 30 years of excellence in dance. Approximately 40 alumnae and some of their future Ramblerettes, including graduates from Marillac High School and members of the very first Loyola Academy Poms squad, enjoyed an evening filled with nostalgia and camaraderie.
The festivities kicked off with a dinner and reception, where LA dancers reconnected over shared memories, viewing old photos and videos, and reminiscing about performances past. Following the reception, attendees made their way to the gym to cheer on the Loyola Academy boys' varsity basketball team. The energy in the stands was electric, fueled by the exciting game and win. But the highlight of the evening came during halftime when the 2024-2025 Varsity Ramblerettes took center court for a special performance. As they showcased their immense talent and precision, alumnae beamed with pride knowing they had once graced the same stage and been part of a program that has certainly evolved and continues to thrive.
The night was a beautiful reminder of the bonds formed through Loyola Academy's Ramblerettes program and the impact it has had on generations of dancers. Attendees left with full hearts, rekindled friendships, and a renewed appreciation for the program that shaped them. Following this special evening, the 2024-2025 Varsity Ramblerettes went on to compete in the IHSA Competitive Dance Sectionals for the eleventh consecutive year! The Ramblerettes placed in the top six at sectionals to advance to the state competition.
Making program history, on February 14, the Ramblerettes traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete for the very first time at the National Dance Alliance (NDA) 2025 National Championship. The Ramblerettes made it to the final round of competition for all three of their routines. The team finished 16th in Medium Varsity Game Day, 11th in Medium Varsity Jazz, and 8th in the Nation for Medium Varsity Pom out of 44 teams competing. Congratulations to this amazing team and their coaches.
Cheers to 30 years of Loyola Academy Poms and Ramblerettes! Here’s to many more to come!
