SGT x LA Presents: "Alice in Wonderland Jr."

In September 2022, Loyola Academy launched a partnership with Special Gifts Theatre (SGT), a not-for-profit organization that provides individuals who possess a wide array of disabilities the opportunity to experience the joy and enrichment that theatre arts can bring. Now in its third year, the SGT x LA Peer Mentor Program continues to give Ramblers the opportunity to work one-on-one with a Special Gifts Theatre buddy in the beautiful McGrath Family Performing Arts Center. Together this spring they put on a magical performance of Alice in Wonderland Jr. on March 1 and 2!
Alice in Wonderland Jr. follows Alice down the rabbit hole and into a world of wonder and whimsy. The adapted musical production featured an inclusive cast of Special Gifts Theatre actors with disabilities and Loyola Academy students as peer mentor volunteers.

Prior to the start of the program, Loyola student mentors received disability awareness training with one-on-one coaching and support with skill development in patience, empathy, compassion, leadership, and responsibility. Participating Rambler mentors include: Ava Bongiovanni '27, Sofia Bongiovanni '26, Sofia Chen '25, Karolina Doroszkiewicz '25, Meredith Duryea '25, Brooke Engels '25, Charlotte Glen '27, Sean Gregg '26, Margot Hickey '26, Anna Karalli '25, Lucy Kirkland '25, Parker Koval '28, Katie Krug '25, Alana Livingston '25, Ellory Madison '26, Lael O'Shaughnessy '25, Winnie Orth '26, Norah Parkinson '27, Ella Ryan '27, Lexi Samartzis '27, and Peter Winslow '26.
