  • President's Medal

Established in 1958 by Loyola President Rev. J. Peter Buschmann, SJ, the President’s Medal was initially presented each year to the president of the Mother’s Club for her leadership and service to the Academy. In 1973, Loyola President Rev. John H. Reinke, SJ, expanded the scope of the award to include trustees, faculty, and distinguished friends and supporters. Over time, the award has evolved to reflect the changing landscape of service and dedication within the Loyola network. Today, under the leadership of Loyola President Rev. Gregory J. Ostdiek, SJ, the President’s Medal has been further refined to include additional categories honoring individuals for their exceptional service to the wider community, contributions to the school, and dedication to our board of trustees.

Loyola Academy established the Rev. Daniel A. Lord, SJ, Award in 1963 to honor those who have provided distinguished service in the cause of youth. The award is named for Rev. Daniel A. Lord, SJ (1888–1955), who was an example of how one man, born more than a century ago, made a difference in the lives of many young people. Fr. Lord believed in young people, and he believed in ideas and in communication. He worked endlessly with the youth of his day and was regenerated by their vigor and their idealism.
