The 2022 Jesuit Cup was held at UIC on Friday, January 21. The annual matchup, played again St. Ignatius College Prep, draws fans from each Jesuit school to this friendly rivalry. The girls retained the cup, defeating the Wolfpack 43–28. The boys lost 37–24, marking their first CCL loss of the season.
The boys' varsity basketball team had a three-win week, defeating Lake View, Catholic League Providence St. Mel and Lincoln Park on Saturday in the CCL/ESCC Conference Challenge hosted by Loyola Academy Athletics.
Sophomores defeated Providence St. Mel and Lincoln Park and the freshmen A team defeated Lake View, Lake Forest and Carmel, while the freshmen B team dropped games to Lake Forest and Carmel.
Varsity finished 3-1 and in 3rd Place at the Loyola/New Trier Thanksgiving Tournament after beating #4 ranked St. Ignatius on Saturday in a packed gym! Connor Casper '22, John Daguinsin '22 and Alex Engro '23 were named to the All-Tourney Team. The sophomore team finished 2-1 at the St. Viator Tourney, beating New Trier and Lake Forest before losing to GBN in the championship. The freshman teams competed in the GBN Thanksgiving Tourney. Freshmen A was 1-2 and Freshmen B 3-0 and Tourney Champs. All levels play at home on Wednesday, December 1, against Notre Dame.
